We are passionate about our work. We always aim to better what we have achieved, and we are always looking for new and different elements to add to the learning experience. These examples highlight our developing approach.
Internal Development
Our internal development work allows us the freedom to try and test new concepts. We can focus on many different types of learning objectives within a 3D world, it is not all about playing games.
We can create a 3D virtual world that can deliver many different types of learning objectives. This demonstrate how we can make learning more real to life, immersive and challenging. Evolving the development of elearning.
We have created a walk around and interactive environment, demonstrating a powerful immersive solution.
Public iPhone Application
Developing an ability to read the interviewer's body language and the progress of an interview is an essential skill. Our approach gives people the ability to process actions and reactions within an interview process.
Understanding the different behaviours required within an interview process, how to act and reactto body language behaviour based on specific circumstances and scenarios
This iPhone app is still in development stage, with an expected release in 2012. This solution provide an new and fresh approach to master the skills of interviews.
Asda
The Disciplinary & Grievance and Managing Underperformance courses areAsda’s first exposure to elearning, which makes this task difficult on two fronts: 1) essential to deliver the right solution to people who were not exposed to elearning and 2) what can be perceived as ‘boring’ content must be brought to life, making it interesting and engaging.
It was essential to keep the content as realistic as possible, therefore a lot of focus was placed on real day to day issues encountered and the appropriate way of managing these issues.
We developed this elearning solution to provide an exploratory based learning approach. Through extensive interactions, the learners understand the key facts, specific scenarios and how the policy is implemented in Asda.
Learning Technologies Exhibition
Since the inception of PTK Learning one of our key drivers is to consistently enhance and evolve what we do. The learning technologies exhibition allows us to showcase our focus on learning engagement for the future. We embrace new learning methods, media technology and traditional elearning structures to provide the very best solutions. View the full demo on YouTube here.
Royal Navy
Virtual Squadron concept is to create real world tasks and challenges aircraft engineers would encounter every dayBringing the real world focus in to this solution meant testing the learner’s knowledge on a variety of skills.
Creating a real world environment to allow the learners take on any task in a non-linear pattern. Along with developing their processing skills on aircraft maintenance, the engineers would learn to effectively communicate and manage the timescales on implementing each step of the process.
While this project was put on hold due to the spending freeze, the structure of this learning approach provides a new way of developing and implementing knowledge and skills. Creating a multi-player/learner approach enables us to create real interactive learning environments.
Apple iPhone, iPad and Mac solution
From time to time we develop mobile app solutions, whether educational, games or lifestyle. We decided to develop a game called Sky Strike as part of our mobile app continuous development process. Using technology called Cocoas we created a 2.5D line drawing environment. Players must stop the invading planes from landing by shooting them down – sounds easy but it gets harder as you progress through the levels.
Sky Strike has been downloaded in over 60 countries worldwide, and will continue to grow.
Our approach is to continue to develop our skills across the board. We are mobile application developers and can deliver any content on any smart phone device, using a range of technologies. We build to our client’s specification and have the knowledge and understanding of how the mobile apps market works.
Milton Keynes Council
Milton Keynes Council is committed to developing elearning content as their main driver of learning and development. The requirement was a interactive solution that focuses on the council and what would represent Milton Keynes and the Council in a very positive light.
As the induction is very reliant on policy and procedure content, providing effective interactions throughout the solution was critical. Learner engagement would provide the positive feedback required.
Working with Flash PaperVision we were able to create an entry level (uncomplicated) 3D solution, where the learners could navigate through each activity and module with ease. The learning content was presented in a functional format and there were a variety of tasks and activities which always kept the learners engaged.
PTK Learning Development Work
PTK Learning is committed to developing the best solutions for our clients. We are continuously working on new concepts and technologies to ensure the solution we deliver to our clients is effective. PTK Learning is the only elearning company that is driving behavioural based learning within elearning virtual worlds. There are serious concerns that elearning is falling significantly short of reality learning, what we mean by this is, content is seen to be the key to elearning (you may have heard people saying – “content is king”) However, the content is meaningless without the interactions, reactions and analysis. Our key driver is creating solutions that focus on the behaviour of the learner, therefore we adopt methodologies such as Emotional Intelligence. Our focus is not to tell a learner how to project manage, our focus in to enable the learner to effectively project manage.
Fire Academy
Developed as an instructional and practical guide to Fire Safety Training, using a 3D virtual world to create real scenarios the learners are given essential experience and support for a variety of scenarios which they may encounter in the work place.
Providing support after face to face practical learning is essential. Putting into practice what they have learnt from the experts to ensure that they maintain the key knowledge and skills.
Creating 3D animations, we developed a step by step instructional guide to a variety of Fire safety issues. In addition, we used Unity 3D to deliver an interactive environment where the learner can walk around and take part in scenario based tasks. Feedback for each taskwould provide the learner with the impact/effect of doing it right or wrong.
McDonald’s
Project in development, details coming soon.

Apple iPhone
This iPhone app was created to provide a information to individuals who are in the process of starting up a business or those who are in early stage development. This guide provides essential information to consider, from a financial, planning, budgeting, employment and supplier view point. For people who have minimal experience in business development, there are many elements to consider, this iPhone app breaks this information down, which is easy to follow and implement.
This iPhone application has been downloaded in over 40 countries worldwide and has received very positive feedback.
Asda Walmart (Distribution)
Asda Distribution commissioned PTK Learning to develop a one hour e-learning course to educate their staff on the new national agreement between Asda and the GMB union. The new agreement replaces all current policies and procedures around Disciplinary and Grievance, Absence, Performance Management and Substance Misuse.
The course objectives were to give Asda Distribution staff knowledge of the new polices and to promote a positive attitude toward the implementation of the policies and the change in culture.
We developed a 2D course in a very tight timescale to Asda Distribution brand guidelines. The rather ‘dry’ content is presented in an engaging way and the learner ‘s knowledge is tested at the end of each module to ensure that they understand each of the four policies.
Various
The development of characters is an important part of your 3D virtual world. When creating behavioural based learning there are many interactions with the onscreen 3D characters, it is best that these are as realistic as possible to make the learning more meaningful and real. Each image provides an example of some 3D characters.
I am Learning is a specialised provider of educational material to schools in the UK. They have achieved significant success with the delivery of revision resources for SATS and GCSE examinations. They contracted PTK Learning to develop an iPhone and iPad revision solution for the global market (via iTunes). We created an identical solution to the Internet based revision solution, providing the students with multiple choice questions and also interactive games to play in between their revision. In addition, we created a feedback section that allows the learners to evaluate their progress as they go through each revision subject.
Internal Development
Throughout the year we develop some animations based on a specific theme, mostly these are completed for Halloween, and we always provide a specific elearning message.
We hope you enjoy these.
